We were so honoured to have been invited to help facilitate local sustainability discussions at the Festival of Ideas in Dorrigo on Saturday 💜

While much of our work is in the Hunter Region, one of our co-founders lives in Dorrigo, so it is a place that is very close to our hearts 💕

We are completely inspired by the Dorrigo Community and all of the ideas that came out of the day! 💡💡💡

Sourcing some warmer clothing from Op Shops is a great way to keep the cost down when the season changes in a hurry!

In addition, when you purchase secondhand you’re helping to reduce the consumption of energy, water and materials AND giving clothing and other items a second life, reducing the amount that ends up in landfill! ♻️

One of the best bits of advice I’ve heard recent

One of the best bits of advice I’ve heard recently is from @bellstreet on the @questioningfashionpodcast - Do what you can to get that item back into circulation as quickly as possible! It doesn’t have to be perfect, just give it a go! I am not a confident sewer but I am getting there, and this jumpsuit was my biggest sewing challenge yet. It was frayed across both sides of the seam and the fabric was looking quite weak. It is a loose fit, so I was able to take it in a little in the middle just with a hand stitch. I went up and down a couple of times to make sure it would hold. You can see it’s not perfect but it has made this outfit 100% wearable again and meant that I could wear it last night to the @mrspress book launch at @momowholefood hosted by @highteawithmrswoo! How awesome to bring all these incredible women together as well! @theconsciousexchange @renewyliving @aware.sdproject @upcyclenewcastle @sharedworldcollective
