We are Siobhan, Bianca, and Jack. Three passionate siblings united and motivated to do all we can to leave this world better than we found it. For our kids, and for all future generations.

We noticed something.

People in our communities were becoming more aware of environmental issues. Some
were expressing this by re-thinking the way they gave and received gifts in an effort to reduce waste, while others had a desire to have a more lasting positive environmental impact.

A seed was planted in our minds, and from that sprung forth Purple Card Project!

To further assess our observations, we ran a large-scale community survey to identify
factors preventing the growth of the zero-waste gift culture in Australia, and to find why we were not seeing more of our community’s small-scale environmental project ideas being converted into
action.

So what did we learn?

We established that around a third of individuals classified themselves as ‘Doers’ – people
with innovative solutions who would like to run their own environmental projects – but were
limited by funding, community support, and experience in project development.

While around four out of five individuals classified themselves as ‘Givers’ – people with a desire to
donate to local environmental projects, but found they were prevented from donating by a lack
of awareness of projects in their communities.

We also established that 44% of individuals who would be likely to donate to an
environmental project, would also be likely to donate on behalf of someone as a gift.

How did we use this information?

We have made it our mission to enable communities to have a positive environmental impact by connecting people with great ideas for environmental projects, with the consultation, community support and funding they need to bring their projects to life.

At the same time we will help tackle the issue of gift waste in Australia by allowing people to support projects on behalf of someone as a gift.

We’re so excited to be here doing what we love!

Siobhan, Bianca and Jack
